Immunity, not a seasonal discussion!

Updated: Nov 21, 2020

Immunity has become a seasonal discussion for most, reserved for fall & winter when colds and the flu are most prevalent.

But our Immune health is not just an issue during fall & winter—it’s beneficial all year long and can result in increased energy, vitality and overall wellbeing, no matter the season!!

Building a strong immune system should not be an occasional effort. In addition to destroying the viruses and germs that we’re more vulnerable to in the winter, immune defenses also handle toxins, allergens, abnormal cells, and other internal maintenance. For the body, immunity is more than a full-time job. It’s a constant state of vigilance.

Our immune system is our firewall against colds and flu, but immunity must be protected and nurtured throughout the year. This can be achieved by following a healthy, whole foods diet, receiving adequate rest and hydration, practicing healthy stress relief, and supplementing with powerful immune-boosting herbs and nutrients. The more we do to support immunity, the stronger it will be when we need it most.

Especially when these crazy viruses are finding their way back to the US- whether man made or not, they made their way here! We all need to build our immune systems up everyday, 365 days of the year to help combat this and everything else we are exposed to.

Preventative maintenance is key!

If you happen to catch a virus or a cold and you are working on building your immune up everyday your body will be that much stronger to help fight it and the time you have it will be shortened compared to that if you do nothing to help your body to build a strong immune!! Truth

Keep Your Immune System Healthy tips and suggestions:

Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Get at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week. Get enough sleep. Wash your hands. Keep your weight healthy. Don't drink too much alcohol. Don't smoke. Def don't vape!

Consume a high percentage of your food from plants and whole food sources. If you consume 80-90% as whole, unprocessed food, and 30-50% as raw food, you are doing well. After a few weeks to a few months of this kind of eating you will likely notice your energy levels are excellent, and after a few years, the % of you getting winter illness are cut by more than half.

Good hygiene. The first line of defense is to keep germs at bay by following good personal hygiene habits. Stop infection before it begins and avoid spreading it to others.

Don't over clean, def don't over disinfect, don't overuse any chemicals that compromise your immunity. Over disinfecting will cut down on the good stuff in your microbiome!!

Get fresh air, natural vitamin D, if and when possible.

Be happy, seriously, let that shit go! Being positive and happy it boosts your immune!

Avoid refined sugar. Sugar suppresses your immune system. Also, avoid refined flour, refined oil, foods with chemical preservatives, dyes, additives, and processed foods. It has been scientifically shown that when you eat foods from processed, refined, chemicalized and fried foods, then you already have inflammation, called leukocytosis, measurable in your body.

Get enough restful sleep. Not getting enough sleep has been shown to weaken your immune system.

Run a Humidifier or De Humidifier which ever fits your needs Run a Diffuser in your home<> Even both for that matter. Use essential oils in them that are known for their medicinal values. Just be careful of the oils that are not healthy for our pets. Plug in a slat lamp.

Take a good brand supplement(s) and extra supplements when you are starting to feel something brew- to offset your diet for the minerals and vitamins your body is not getting or you may be deficient at any given time. Zinc, Vit D-3 and Vitamin C should be a start for those new to supplementing.

Here's more...

Supplements, Herbs and Plants, I would suggest trying- of course Vitamin C, and D, Probiotics, then there's Basil, Zinc, Ginger, Echinacea, Garlic, Mustard, Hemp Oil, Rosemary,Cinnamon, Dill, Oregano, Thyme, Bone broth, Colloidal Silver... and there's more. Not sure what you need?

Ask me. I do first time free consultations and I'd be happy to evaluate what you personally do need and what you shouldn't take. I can energy test for supplements and more. Every body has different needs.

One more I would suggest is a pure CBD Oil. With no fillers and make sure it is US Hemp Authority approved. Cannabindiol opens the detoxification pathways of our liver, gallbladder, and kidneys; restores the directionality of the liver, calms the autonomic nervous system, and returns balance to the body. The endocannabinoid system is known to play an important role in regulating immunity and scientists consider it to be one of the “gatekeepers” of the immune system.
