How many of you know how important it is to be out and about in the grass, on dirt, on rocks...in your yards, barefoot. Yes, I said barefoot.
How often are you barefoot outside?!
We depend on Mother Earth for life, yet we isolate ourselves from her everyday! We walk on rubber or plastic soled shoes all day, everyday. We are constantly disrupted with harmful EMFs via our phones, TV, wifi, microwaves, cell phone towers, and we don't get to connect the way we were meant to!
In simple terms, grounding is simply putting your bare feet on the ground. When you do this, you're in contact with the Earth. And because Mother Earth is endowed with electrons, these electrons are literally absorbed through your feet when grounding barefoot.
Our bodies are made up of energy-- and being grounded can make a huge difference in your health and life.
I make it a point to go outside daily and get "grounded" and/or I hook myself up inside with one of a few different grounding products like grounding mats, grounding pads, grounding bedding. When purchasing these, beware of knock-offs and make sure they are the real deal. Real ones-created-made by Clint Ober. Earthing Life also makes grounding shoes, that I recommend for those not liking to be bare-footed. You can feel a difference immediately in doing so.
Be careful not to overdo it-you can have detox symptoms if you do too much too quickly. I will discuss this a bit more in detail later in their post.
“Earthing is like taking handfuls of antioxidants”
Studies show that people who regularly ground themselves have these health benefits:
Improved immune function
Neutralizes free radicals
Improved digestion
Improved sleep
Rapid healing of injuries
Improved blood circulation
Harmonization and stabilization of the body's basic biological rhythms
Accelerated recovery from intense athletic activity
Reduction of inflammation
Reduced stress/ anxiety / irritability/cortisol
Reduced electro-sensitivity
Grounding the body at night during sleep has shown to positively affect morning fatigue levels, daytime energy, and reduced pain levels.
Grounding sheets, mats, and bedding create an electrical pathway between your body and the earth! Start with interval timing or minimal dosing and increase as you feel it's good for you-as with all holistic methods we all require different dosing and method(s). I find it best to start slow and steady and increase time grounding. I actually incorporated grounding into my healing sessions with clients a few years ago, and it has been so more beneficial in their healing process. Then they can continue to ground after sessions are complete on their own with the understanding of how much to do and which method proves best for them.
When grounding during sleep and when done overnight you get 6-8 hours of uninterrupted, full body grounding, which maximizes the electron transfer. your body does most healing at night, and greater surface area contact equals more electrons - providing greater inflammation and pain reduction, better sleep and much more!
I did mention the word detox... like with many holistic healing methods some could experience detox symptoms and if you overdo it you most definitely will. Start slow and increase grounding time. Listen to your body-you will know when it's enough in one session or you will learn over time. You will feel a bit of a different sensation earthing on ground vs a grounding pad, mat, ect...
Why?
Because when grounding indoors you can place the mat, pad, patches anyplace on the body, not just the feet. If you want direct contact to a specific area for, lets say pain or inflammation it's best to place grounding item directly on area you want the electrons to focus on first. The electrons will flow in the direction they are needed.
When you ground outside you need to ground for a minimal amount of time, thirty minutes to one hour. Just to test it out - go one day outside for a few hours barefoot and see how you sleep that night. Take it from there and decide the amount of time best for you going forward.
Research has shown that grounding for one hour a day may boost mood and promote relaxation.
Immediate effects many experience with time connected to the ground can be improved sleep, lower inflammation, ease of stress, improved blood flow, and it can boost physical healing, to name a few. Many athletes including myself use grounding as a healing modality for healing wounds, muscles, back injuries and more.
Interested in trying one of my healing modalities that I add a grounding mat to, just set up an appointment via email or phone. Some modalities I am booked out till September but if you get your name in and I have an opening come up or a cancellation, I place my waiting list peeps into these spots to at least have the opportunity to try it and see the benefits before committing to a complete regimen of healing sessions or completing a full health assessment form that my clients are requested to do prior to beginning any holistic regimen.
